Established Crewe shop set to close down after over 30 years of trading

A home decor shop in Crewe is set to close down after more than 30 years of trading, following the business owner's decision to retire.

Cut Price Wallpaper, Mill Street, will be closing its doors for good in the next 'three to four weeks.'

Owner and manager since the beginning, Paul France, is set to retire and has already sold the art deco building.

The Crewe business sells a wide variety of wallpaper, suitable for homes and businesses.

Cut Price Wallpaper first opened on Nantwich Road in the 1980s, relocating to Mill Street in the early 1990s.

Mr France told Nub News: "I am sad to be closing the shop, but I have had a good 30 years and have been very lucky."

"I am not originally from Crewe, but have lived here for over 30 years.

"I first opened Cut Price Wallpaper on Nantwich Road, moving to Mill Street a few years later.

"I have been operating the shop on Mill street for the last 30 years.

"The girls that work for me have been here for over 20 years. I thank them for all their hard work."

Currently, there are no plans for a new shop to replace Cut Price Wallpaper.

Cut Price Wallpaper will remain open 9:30am to 5pm (Monday to Saturday) and 10am until 4pm (Sunday), until its permanent closure (Ryan Parker).

The Mill Street business is now running a closing down sale.

Cut Price Wallpaper will remain open 9:30am to 4:45pm (Monday to Wednesday), 9:30am to 5pm (Thursday to Saturday) and 10am until 4pm (Sunday), until closure.
