Emergency services rush to attend Crewe arson attack with two cars in flames

Emergency services rushed to attend a serious Crewe arson attack incident where two cars were in flames - started by two suspects in the middle of the night.

The incident on Readesdale Avenue, happened around 12am on Monday 26 June - with Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushing to the scene.

Emergency services arrived to find a white Ford Transit van on fire with a grey Nissan Qashqai parked next to the vehicle also in flames.

A white Ford Transit van was deliberately set on fire, on Readesdale Avenue, with a grey Nissan Qashqai parked next to the vehicle also catching fire (Google).

This incident is believed to have been started deliberately with CCTV enquiries showing two suspects pouring an unknown substance onto the Ford Transit van.

The two suspects were then seen fleeing on a what is thought to be an electric bike.

Both vehicles sustained serious damage from the arson attack.

On Tuesday 27 June, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "At around 12am on Monday 26 June, police were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Readesdale Avenue, Crewe.

Two suspects were seen fleeing on a what is thought to be an electric bike - close to Readesdale Avenue Co-op (Crewe Police).

"It's believed a white Ford Transit van had been deliberately set alight and a grey Nissan Qashqai parked next to the vehicle also caught fire as a result. 

"Enquiries in relation to this incident are underway and anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist our investigation is asked to contact Cheshire Police via the website, quoting IML 1581865 or calling 101."
