Emergency services rescue person 'medically trapped' following two-car collision
Emergency services rushed to rescue a person 'medically trapped' inside their vehicle - following a two-car collision in Crewe.
The incident on Weston Road, close to Crewe Hall, happened at approximately 3pm on Wednesday (February 1) - involving a brown Citroen C4 and a white Volkswagen Touran.
Two Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service engines and North West Ambulance Service paramedics quickly arrived at the scene - finding a 30-year-old woman 'medically trapped' inside the C4.
Firefighter crews used cutting equipment to remove the roof off of the damaged Citroen.
Once safely removed, paramedics treated the woman and took her to Leighton Hospital.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision in Crewe involving two vehicles.
"One casualty was medically trapped so crews used cutting equipment to remove the roof off one of the vehicles to enable paramedics to gain access to the person."

Weston Road was closed for approximately three hours with motorists diverted via the A500.
Cheshire Police told Nub News the woman's injuries are 'not believed to be life threatening.'
