A drunk Crewe man smashed up a car left in his flat's allocated parking space with a hammer – despite not being able to drive.

Gavin Glover does not drive or own a car but held onto the space outside his rented home in Crewe for over 12 years.

In December, Glover lost his temper when a neighbour's boyfriend left his Volkswagen Polo in the disused spot.

Gavin Glover attended Crewe Magistrates' Court On Thursday (January 12), where he was ordered to pay £300 to the owner of the damaged Polo (Ryan Parker).

The 58-year-old attacked the car with a hammer - smashing the windscreen, rear window and rear passenger window.
