Drink driver charged after being over three times legal limit in Crewe

A Lancashire man has been charged with drink driving, after he was found to be over three times the legal limit.

On Sunday 25 February, Cheshire Police received reports of a Vauxhall being driven "erratically" on Hungerford Road.

In the early hours, officers located the vehicle on the A534 Haslington Bypass, performing a traffic stop.

Daniel Proctor, 22, from Preston, failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

The Lancashire man provided a sample of 111, over three times the legal limit.

Proctor has since been charged with driving whilst exceeding the prescribed limit and will appear in court on Tuesday 12 March.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "In the early hours of Sunday 25 February, we received reports of a Vauxhall driving erratically on Hungerford Road.

Daniel Proctor, 22, from Preston, failed a roadside breath test, prividing a sample of 111, and was arrested (Cheshire Police).

"The vehicle was seen dangerously swerving across the road several times.

"Crewe Response Team located the vehicle on the Haslington Bypass and performed a traffic stop.

"The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

"Daniel Proctor, 22, from Preston, has been charged with driving whilst exceeding the prescribed limit.

"He provided a breath sample of 111 microgrammes per 100 ml of breath. The legal limit being 35.

"He will appear in court on Tuesday 12 March."
