A decades-old Chinese takeaway in Crewe is set to reopen this week, following an interior refurbishment (updated).
Golden Fish and Chips, West Street, has been closed since Monday 8 July, with the shop face covered up and a notice displayed.
Some local residents wondered whether Golden Fish and Chips had closed down, but this is not the case.
The family-run eatery, which has been open for well over 50 years, is targeted to open its doors again on Thursday 1 August. A new kitchen has been fitted.
A Golden Fish and Chips notice reads: "We were initially set to be closed from Monday 8 July to Monday 29 July and reopen again on Tuesday 30 July.
"We will now reopen on Thursday 1 August. Sorry about the delay, thank you for your support."
Golden Fish and Chips serves a large variety of Chinese and English dishes and sides, offering set deals for up to four people.
Its menu includes: Thai, Szechuan, duck, garlic, peking-style, yellow bean sauce, omelette, fried rice, chow mein, curry, mushroom, foo young, beansprout, pineapple, sweet and sour and chop suey dishes.
The West End business offers a delivery service with no extra charge, within a three-mile radius. It has a minimum order fee of £13.
When it reopens, Golden Fish and Chips will operate between 5pm and 11pm, Monday to Sunday.
