Darts world champion shows off new trophy for first time at Crewe primary school

The PDC world champion of darts showed off his new trophy for the first time to a Crewe primary school, where a family member attends.

Luke Humphries, visited Mablins Lane Primary School, Leighton, on Wednesday 10 January, with stepdaughter, Gracie, currently in year six.

The 28-year-old visited one week after defeated Cheshire teenager, Luke Littler, 7-4 in a gripping final at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday 3 December.

Luke Humphries, visited Mablins Lane Primary School, Leighton, on Wednesday 10 January, with stepdaughter, Gracie, currently in year six (X).

In a social media statement, Humphries said: "Really enjoyed showing off the trophy today to the kids at Mablins Lane where my step daughter Gracie goes.

"They absolutely loved it and It was a pleasure to share the first outing of it with them."

Born in Newbury, Berkshire, Humphries has lived in Crewe with his family for a number of years.

Humphries has been top of the darts world ranking since reaching the 2023/24 World Darts Championship final on Tuesday 2 January.

A Mablins Lane social media statement read: "Huge congratulations to Luke Humphries the new world champion and world number one darts player.

Luke Humphries visited Mablins Lane Primary School one week after defeated Cheshire teenager, Luke Littler, 7-4 in a gripping final at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday 3 December (Ryan Parker).

"How lucky are we that he came to visit us and his lovely Gracie in year six to show us his amazing trophy."

Humphries has now won four of the past five major televised tournaments in the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation).
