A Crewe businessman is excited at the prospect of what the new Business Improvement District (BID) can mean for the town.

Owner and manager of United Carpets, Nantwich Road, Eddie Davies, thinks the investment opportunity for the town could make a big difference to residents and businesses.

He told Nub News: "The formation of the BID will raise £1.6m which will go towards making the town cleaner and safer.

The Crewe BID will begin on the 1st April 2024 for five years until 2029 (Ryan Parker).

"This is not only good for businesses, but will make Crewe a better place to live for its residents."

The BID will also focus on promoting and connecting the many businesses in the town.

Eddie added: "Crewe has so many great shops, bars and restaurants for people to enjoy, plus a great theatre.

"But, there is room for improvement in several areas and I'm hopeful that these additional funds will make a noticeable difference in the town."

United Carpets, Nantwich Road, is open seven days a week (Ryan Parker).
