A local charity has organised a Halloween Monster Ball - raising funds to build a brand-new boxing gym facility in Crewe.

Crewe Youth Club (CYC), has organised the Halloween event to the held inside The Crozzy, Chester Street, this Saturday (October 29).

The event starts at 7pm, featuring Grease Monkeys Disco Karaoke, The Devil's Shot Bar, Halloween Raffle, Haunted Photo Booth and Best Fancy Dress Competition.

Crewe Youth Club has organised this event in its drive to raise funds for a new boxing gym facility on Mirion Street (Crewe Youth Club).

Crewe Youth Club has organised this event in its drive to raise funds for a new boxing gym facility on Mirion Street.

This month, Cheshire East Council confirmed it intends to issue the Crewe club with a 'Grant Offer Letter' to the value of £600,000 - supporting the project.

The Youth Club is targeting a total figure of £1 million for funding the project.

Crewe Youth Club Trustee, Mrs Julie Quinn-Cornes is running this weekend's Halloween Monster Ball charity event.

The event at The Crozzy starts at 7pm - featuring Grease Monkeys Disco Karaoke, The Devil's Shot Bar and Best Fancy Dress Competition (Jonathan White).

Mrs Quinn-Cornes told Nub News: "Following the success of our August Summer Ball, we're really excited to be presenting our Halloween Monster Ball at the Crossy on Saturday 29 October.

"All the proceeds go towards our new boxing Gym on the Mirion Street site.

"Please come along and support us."

Crewe's Mirion Street Youth Club was sadly lost to an arson attack in 2014.

Trustees of Crewe Youth Club intend to develop all of the 1.1-acre site (Crewe Nub News).

As part of the overall regeneration of the town, trustees of Crewe Youth Club intend to develop all of the 1.1-acre site - all to benefit the youth of Crewe.

Phase one of this regeneration project will see the contraction of a new boxing gym.

This will allow South Cheshire Amateur Boxing Club to relocate from an old warehouse on Middlewich Street to brand-new purpose-built facilities nearby.

Planning consultants are currently working at the Mirion Street site to prepare Crewe Youth Club's planning application for the new gym.

Tickets for this event are priced at £10. Limited on the door tickets are available from The Crozzy (Julie Quinn-Cornes).
