Crewe woman charged with drink driving after car crashes into parked vehicles

A Crewe woman has been charged with drink driving after their vehicle crashed into three parked cars in the town, leaving it tilted on its side.

On Tuesday 11 November, Cheshire Police were alerted to an incident on Badger Avenue, close to the junction with Underwood Lane.

At 6.39pm, officers arrived at the scene, discovering a black SUV had ploughed into a trio of parked cars at high speed.

The crash left the vehicles severely damaged, with Rachel Howell, 41, of Wheelman Road, blowing over the limit for drink driving and being arrested at the scene.

Howell, who was later charged with the incident, appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court for a first hearing on Wednesday 12 November.

The local woman pleaded guilty at the hearing and will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday 15 December for sentencing.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "A woman has been charged with drink driving following a collision in Crewe.

"Police were called to Badger Avenue at 6.39pm on Tuesday 11 November, following reports of a collision at its junction with Underwood Lane.

"A car had collided with three parked cars. The driver was arrested at the scene.

"Howell pleaded guilty and will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday 15 December for sentencing."
