Crewe West End wheelie bin set on fire in middle of the night
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service had to put out a Crewe wheelie bin fire in the middle of the night - believed to have been started deliberately.
The incident was first reported on West Street, Crewe at 00:01 on Sunday (July 24).
One fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene and put out the bin fire.
This incident happened outside a West Street residential property - close to the junction with Dunwoody Way.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a wheelie bin on fire."
Small deliberate fires are a common issue in Crewe currently.
Cheshire Constabulary is working with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to try and tackle the issue.
This week has been fairly quiet for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
This could not be said last week. A number of fires were reported during the heatwave of Monday (July 18) and Tuesday (July 19).
Wildfires were reported at popular walking and cycling areas in Cheshire - commonly used by Crewe residents.
Firefighters dealt with a serious fire at Delamere Forest, which spanned across an area of 40m by 40m.
In Mow Cop, a wildfire fire affected buildings and trees - rapidly going out of control.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service eventually managed to put out both of the fires.
