Crewe Truck Stop to remain open after this weekend following Network Rail 'agreement'
The popular Crewe Truck Stop will not be closing down this weekend, after it managed to come to an "agreement" with Network Rail to remain open longer.
Crewe Truck Stop, Cowley Way, was expected to permanently close to customers after Sunday 30 July.
This is now not the case, with the site remaining open for the "foreseeable future."
Network Rail will taking around 18 spaces of the yard from after this weekend.
But, it has allowed Crewe Truck Stop to operate for longer, giving more time for the facility to find an alternative site.
In a social media statement, Crewe Truck Stop confirmed it would be remaining open past the end of July.
The statement read: "We are not closing on 30th July.
"We have managed to come to an agreement with Network Rail to continue to operate for a bit longer while we try and find an alternative site.
"Network Rail have been very understanding with recognising the need for our truck stop.
"We will be losing a small part of our yard to them for storage (about 18 spaces), but they have agreed to let us carry on operating for the foreseeable future.
"We hope you're as pleased with this news as we are."
After purchasing the site this March, Network Rail plans to bring Cowley Way into operational use next year.
Crewe Truck Stop Café will remain open even when Network Rail begin operating at the site.
