A popular Crewe town centre venue celebrated 75 years of Indian independence - hosting a special cultural evening attended by local members of the community.

Crewe Market Hall celebrated its second ever Indian cultural evening on Monday (August 15).

The Crewe town centre event was organised to celebrate 75 years of Indian independence, which started from 15 August 1947.

More than 100 people from the local Indian community came to the event (Crewe Nub News).

Crewe Market Hall's authentic Indian eatery, Bombaye Junction, joined in with the evening celebrations.

"The event was certainly a great way to commemorate the independence which India savours today, following many years of struggle by our ancestors.

"It was also very lovely to see many people who came out to celebrate and support, perfectly showing the strong sense of community in Crewe.

The cultural evening demonstrated that Crewe Market Hall is not just a hospitality and music venue - but also a community hub for all to use.

Robby added: "It made me feel very grateful to be living in a community where people are so heartwarming, welcoming and open."

Crewe Market Hall believes it is now a community hub for all to use (Crewe Nub News).

Crewe Market Hall is now available for selected dates to hire an events space.
