A popular Crewe town centre business which relocated to bigger premises in May, is now planning to serve Korean and Japanese alcohol to customers.

This June, Kawaii Boba Tea, Earle Street, submitted a premises license application to Cheshire East Council, wanting to sell the likes of Soju, Sake, Korean rice wine and potentially Chinese fruit beers.

Crewe's only bubble tea shop seeks permission for the supply of alcohol, for consumption off the premises, between 11am to 7pm (Monday to Thursday), 11am to 7.30pm (Friday and Saturday) and 12pm to 5pm (Sunday).

Owned by Jayne Li, Kawaii Boba Tea has applied for a licence to supply alcohol, for consumption off the premises and play recorded music indoors (Ryan Parker).

Owned by Jayne Li, Kawaii Boba Tea has also applied for a licence to play recorded music indoors for the same hours.

Kawaii Boba Tea serves freshly-made bubble teas, fruit teas, croffles, taiyaki waffles, boba sundaes, ice cream and Asian groceries.

After trading inside Hong's for over 18 months and moving next door, Kawaii Boba Tea now offers customers a large new seating area, as well as a new karaoke booth experience, bubble and lollipop waffles and an extended range of its Asian groceries.

Kawaii Boba Tea also sells Korean ice cups with take-out alcoholic beverages set to be added on the menu.

The premises license application reads: "Notice is hereby given that We, Wai Yee Li & Hong Shen, have applied to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as 7 Earle Street, Crewe, for a premises Licence to provide the following licensable activities:

"Recorded music, indoors Monday to Thursday, 11am to 7pm, Friday and Saturday, 11am to 7.30pm and Sunday 12pm to 5pm.
