A Crewe teenager has been sentenced after punching a man in an unprovoked attack at a pub in the town.
Bobby Plant, of Ash Road, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Monday 23 March, charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
The 19-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to nine months in a young offender institution.
The offence occurred during the early hours of New Year's Day 2026, at around 2.52am.
Plant had been at Albert's Corner public house in Prince Albert Street, on the boxing machine.

While using the machine he aggressively turned to a group of people standing near the machine and threw a punch towards a man who had arrived just seconds before this.
The attack was unprovoked and there was no previous interaction between Plant and the victim prior to the assault.
The victim suffered two fractures to his jaw as a result of the punch and needed surgery.
Plant was removed from the premises and on police arrival he continued to be aggressive, kicking out at two officers and gripping hold of another officer's hand, causing bruising.
He spat in the face of another officer while being placed in the back of the police van.

Albert's Corner has confirmed to Nub News Plant is now "barred for life," with the teenager also on Pubwatch for two years.
A restraining order has been put in place to prohibit him from approaching or contacting the victim.
Detective Constable Edwards said: "This assault was entirely unprovoked, yet the victim ended up with two jaw fractures due to the force that he was hit with.
"The victim was out celebrating the New Year and should not have been subjected to such violence.
"Plant also assaulted numerous police officers. Officers do not go to work expecting to be hit and spat at and I hope this custodial sentence sends a message that this will not be tolerated."
