By Ryan Parker 22nd Mar 2024

The CEO of a Crewe taxi company and customers at a local farm shop found themselves on TV, when BBC News went to interview people about inflation.

Shaine Ashley Tench of A Star Taxis and several customers at Wheelock Hall Farm Shop, Crewe Road, were asked about rising costs and prices by the BBC's economics editor, Faisal Islam.

The news item was shown at the beginning of BBC News at Ten on Wednesday 20 March.

Shaine Tench told BBC he may have to halt A Star Taxis' expansion plans, due to a 'crippling' insurance bill (BBC).

The CEO said: "I could not believe it. It just knocked me back so much.

"It's kind of scary as well, when is it going to stop?"

After Shane was interviewed, Faisal spoke to Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, who assured viewers the UK's economy had "turned a corner."

James Witter, from Wheelock Hall Farm, said a cameraman and the economics editor filmed the item at the weekend.

He told Nub News: "They asked if they could come and speak to a few customers. They didn't disturb anyone and asked people if they wanted to take part.

"We watched it and some of our customers have said they saw the farm on the news."
