Crewe takeaway handed updated five-star food hygiene rating

A Crewe takeaway has been handed an updated five-star food hygiene rating, according to a recent Food Standard Agency (FSA) report.
The FSA Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
This scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It gives businesses a rating from 0 to 5 - displayed at their premises and online.
A five-star hygiene rating means "hygiene standards are very good" for the business.
All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Friday 6 June:
- Babylon/Smash in Crewe - 61 Nantwich Road, Crewe - (29 May, 2025)

A food safety officer from Cheshire East Council inspected the Crewe eatery to check it was following food hygiene law and ensuring the food sold was safe to eat.
At all inspections, the officer checked the following three elements:
- Hygienic food handling - (five-star)
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building – (five-star)
- Management of food safety - (five-star)
Babylon was rated five-star based on these checks.
To celebrate the new rating, Babylon is offering £5 off every £20 spend until Thursday 12 June. Use code 5STAR at the checkout to get your discount.
