A Crewe takeaway has been awarded a five-star food hygiene rating, just months after getting a one-star rating from the Food Standard Agency (FSA).
The FSA Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
This scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It gives businesses a rating from zero to five, displayed at their premises and online.
A five-star hygiene rating means "hygiene standards are very good" for the business.
All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Tuesday 14 May
- Posh Nosh, 176 Edleston Road (Takeaway) - Five Star - (10 May, 2024).
This five-star food hygiene rating came just four months after Posh Nosh was rated one-star.
In January, Posh Nosh was rated one-star based on its management of food safety.
It was deemed improvement was 'necessary' for Posh Nosh's hygienic food handling, with its cleanliness and condition of facilities and building rated 'generally satisfactory.'
A food safety officer from Cheshire East Council inspected the Crewe takeaway again in May to check it was following food hygiene law and ensuring the food sold was safe to eat.
At all inspections, the officer checked the following three elements:
- Hygienic food handling- very good
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - very good
- Management of food safety - very good
In its new FSA report, Posh Nosh was rated five-star on all checks.
