Crewe Sunday football: cup wins for George & Dragon, Crewe Ath, Faddiley and The Lions

IN only two scheduled games in the Crewe Regional Sunday League Premier Division there were wins for NHB and The Raven.

The Raven shared four goals with bottom side Salvador in an exciting first half before a late Damian Sloan penalty clinched a 3-2 win for the visitors. Sloan was adding to his earlier goal and Curtis Rodgers also got on the sheet for the winnners.

Ricky Barlow and Luke Forrester were the Salvador scorers.

NHB FC scored early in each half through goals from Brian Holland and Frank Farrington in their 2-1 win at Willaston White Star. Lukasz Synowicz replied for Willaston WS in the final minute.

Leaders Broadhurst kept up their 100 per cent Division One record with a 5-0 win at Nantwich Pirates helped by Don Johnson's hat-trick. The other goals came from Danny Martin and Jordan Cobley.

Second-placed AFC Talbot kept within two points thanks to a 3-1 win at Audlem. Jack Turner, Charlie Burden and Declan Scott scored for AFC Talbot with Pete Jones replying for Audlem.

Cuddington FC continued their good form winning 3-2 at White Horse with goals from Kyle Cattrall, Kevin Douglas and James Morgan. Joe Davis and Reece Spens replied for White Horse.

Winnington had Jordan Sherlock, Sam Didsbury and Joe Clarkson on the sheet as they beat Sandbach Town 3-2. Jake Tew and Jamie Knowlson scored for Sandbach.

JS Bailey continued their improved form with a 4-3 win over C & N Utd. Scorers for JS Bailey were Liam Challinor, Luke White, Ben Stockton and Jack Everall with Dan Davies, Mark Green and Carl Park replying for C & N.

There were wins for George & Dragon, Crewe Athletic, Faddiley and The Lions in the first round of the Crewe FA Sunday Cup.

George & Dragon went behind at Betley to a Kieran Duckers goal before levelling the game and then hitting four in the last 20 mins to complete a 5-1 win. Scorers were Taylor (2), Hatton, McDonough and Waller.

Premier Division Crewe Athletic also ran up a big score with Josh Dunne and Jordan Amson netting braces and Nathan Tickle and Ryan Walker also on the mark in the 6-0 thrashing of Division One side Princes Feathers.

Faddiley won 3-1 at Sydney Arms with goals from Chris Stokes, Derice Richards and Kieran Smith. Rhys Potter scored for Sydney Arms.

Danny Roberts scored a hat-trick for The Lions as they beat Talbot 5-3 with the other goals coming from Russ Schofield and an own goal. Brandon Grindley, Ted Shakeshaft and Jordan Bennion from the penalty spot replied for Talbot.
