A Crewe gym is getting into top gear - planning to stage a charity spin cycling event.

Fitness fans at Simply Gym, West Street, will be on the saddle throughout the day on Saturday (June 18).

They will be raising money for St Luke's Hospice and Windmills Acute Bereavement Support for Children.

Ever popular spin classes will help raise money for charity on June 18 (Jan Roberts).

General manager Kim Murray said: "Annual spinathons have become something of a tradition at the gym until the pandemic.

"A long-standing member, Phil, began it by raising money for St Luke's in memory of his wife and over the years it has become a highlight at Christmas and Easter with members doing classes in fancy dress.

"We are thrilled to be back on our bikes ploughing all that energy into fundraising for two very worthy causes."

Simply Gym, West Street, is hosting a charity spin cycling event this month (Google).

The event, which is also open to non-members, will see 11 one hour spin classes staged throughout the day.

There will be different types of music from 80s hits and 90s Dance to Gods of Rock and Ibiza Classics.

People can do as many classes as they like for a donation.

Mrs Murray added: "We are grateful to Ben Booth, a new personal trainer at the gym, who has organised the event and will be leading the classes on the day.

"Places are limited per class and all we ask is for spinners to bring water and a towel and of course, boundless energy!"
