A Crewe musician is being recognised on one of the region's biggest music stages in January 2026.

Oli Ng, who is a singer-songwriter, is one of eight nominated for Best Solo Act at the Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 28 January at the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, bringing together artists and industry figures from across the two counties.

This is not Oli's first success at the awards. He previously won Best EP for his Into The Dark EP at the last ceremony, held in 2017.

Reacting to the nomination, Oli told Nub News "It is a real privilege to be nominated for Best Solo Act at the Music Awards of Staffordshire & Cheshire.

"It is really important that local independent artists are showcased and celebrated, so what the team at the Awards are doing is really great. I best dust off my suit."

Unlike some award categories, there is no public vote for Best Solo Act, with winners decided by the judging panel.
