A Crewe high school has paid tribute to 'a shining star' former pupil who tragically died - while studying at a South Cheshire sixth form.
Former St Thomas More Catholic High School pupil, Mary Stanway, passed away on the morning of Friday 24 March.
The year 12 Brine Leas sixth form student's sudden death stunned her friends and former teachers - with tributes paid across social media.
St Thomas More paid tribute to 'shining star' Mary over the weekend with social media statement.
The statement read: "Mary was and always will be a shining star.
"Her smile, laughter and love for life will never be forgotten at STM.
"We are so blessed to have known and loved Mary.
"We pray for her devoted family and her many many friends."
Hundreds of parents, fellow pupils and school staff paid tribute to Mary on social media.
One of those tributes came from St Anne's Primary School - where Mary was formerly a pupil at.
St Anne's said: "Mary was a past pupil of St Anne's and we have so many fond memories of the beautiful, talented, fun and loving girl she was.
"We are also very blessed to have known Mary and send our condolences to her family and friends.
"May she rest in peace. Heaven really has gained a beautiful angel."
