A CREWE hair salon owner says her business is well prepared for a July re-opening.
Vincent's Barbers, a Ladies and Gents Hair Salon, can open again - along with pubs and restaurants - after the Prime Minister announced a further easing of lockdown restrictions today.
The business has already invested in protective gear, including masks and gowns, and will be using staff over shift rotas so as to limit the numbers of people in its Victoria Street premises.
Partner Julie Vincent Geoffrey says she is seeking more detail about any appointment system that might be part of the new guidelines, although Vincent's has already been taking bookings from July 4 by Facebook and phone.
"We are ready to go. We have prepared for the opening date as we were advised and we have read through the COVID safety papers," said Julie.
"Our staff will be wearing masks, visors and gloves, but some of our barbers do use gloves anyway and disinfecting clippers is a normal run of the mill thing.
"But all the seating spacing has had to be changed. Wherever possible we have done two metres, although that has been relaxed to one metre plus now."
Vincents has retained its staff during the coronavirus crisis, but they will be brought back in under a rota system to trim and shape the barnets of customers in need of attention since hairdressing salons were closed in March.
The emphasis will be on limiting numbers in the shop and Julie added: "No-one will be waiting inside.
"At the moment we don't know whether the Government will insist on appointment-only, but we are prepared for that. We are pleased to re-open. With what's been going on in Crewe town centre coronavirus couldn't have come at a worse time."
Anyone who would like an appointment at Vincent's should ring/text 07541295948 or message their Facebook page here
