Crewe road fully closed until at least June

A Crewe road is now fully closed until June at the earliest, allowing major drainage works to take place.

Moss Lane, Leighton, from Parkers Road to A530 Middlewich Road, closed on Monday 8 January.

The road will now be closed until Sunday 2 June at the earliest.

M.V Kelly has been employed by a housing developer to install new outfall drainage and rising mains on the road.

Despite the target opening date, it is possible Moss Lane could be closed for up to 18 months.

Emergency access will be maintained where possible.

A Cheshire East Highways statement read: "This order [road closure] will come into operation on Monday 8 January, 2024 and will continue for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway.

Despite the target opening date, it is possible Moss Lane could be closed for up to 18 months (Ryan Parker).

"Although, it is anticipated the works will be completed by Sunday 2 June, 2024.
