A Crewe pub has reopened under new management following a major refurbishment, with the venue relaunching ahead of a busy football period.

The Imperial, Edleston Road, reopened at 10am on Wednesday 17 June, ahead of England's FIFA World Cup 2026 opener against Croatia at 9pm.

New landlady, Eylse James, originally from Manchester, is taking the Crewe venue into a new era under Unity Social.

The site has been closed since 5 May after the previous team, led by landlady Stacey, left following a shortened contract with the brewery.

Operating under a new direction from Punch Pubs, The Imperial has seen changes to both its layout and trading style.

Unity Social pubs are drinks-only pubs operated by Punch, designed as neighbourhood hubs where locals gather for sports, entertainment and social activities.

Month-long refurbishment work has delivered a refreshed interior and a new games area, as part of a wider overhaul of the space.

The Imperial said: "We're excited to welcome everyone back. Join us from 10am on 17 June as we officially reopen and kick off the World Cup in style.

"Whether you're here for the football, the drinks, or to see the transformation, we can't wait to celebrate with you."

A special Imperial relaunch party will take place on Saturday 20 June, with a number of live music acts planned over the coming weeks and months.

The Imperial's new opening hours are 10am to midnight (Monday to Wednesday), 10am to 1am (Thursday), 10am to 3am (Friday and Saturday) and 10am to 2am (Sunday).
