Crewe pub chain closes for 'exciting' refurbishment project
A popular pub chain in Crewe has temporarily closed for a major refurbishment project, with the venue targeted to reopen again this May.
The Duke of Gloucester, Beswick Drive, temporarily closed on Sunday 7 April, with work starting the following day.
Operated by J.W. Lees, The Duke of Gloucester is currently expected to reopen in early May.
The Crewe pub has been stripped out, with a whole new interior being fitted across the next four weeks.
A Duke of Gloucester social media statement read: "We are temporarily closed whilst we are undergoing an exciting refurbishment.
"The builders are in and we are counting down the days until we can show you our new look.
"Keep your eyes on our social media channels and sign up to our newsletter for sneak previews, updates and teasers."
The Duke of Gloucester offers a British pub classics food menu, serving the likes of Sunday roasts, beer battered fish and chips, burgers and chicken dishes.
Serving award-winning cask ales, the Crewe pub hosts live entertainment, including weekly quiz nights.
The Duke of Gloucester also has a large outdoor seating area, perfect for the warmer weather.
