A CREWE play centre has been forced to shut during school half-term after it was hit by Storm Eunice.

Funsters soft play centre Stalbridge Road will remain closed this week as a result of storm damage.

A large round window at the car park end of the building blew in during last Friday's storm and the centre was shut for the weekend with all party and play bookings cancelled.

Insurance assessors and contractors visited the site on Saturday to assess the damage. With access to the broken window difficult scaffolding will need to be erected both inside and outside the building.

But the centre hopes to reopen on Friday (February 25).

Manager Kay Tran said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to anybody, especially to all of our Birthday children who had parties booked with us, this makes us very sad.

"Thankyou for your understanding at this difficult time."

Funsters say they have made contact with the majority of its half-term bookings and if anyone hasn't heard they should check voice mails.

The centre's booking system will remain down, so anyone wanting to book a future party is being asked to call 01270 500525.
