TODAY'S the day when town centres begin to open up on another key date on the roadmap out of lockdown.
You can have a haircut, go to the gym and catch up with friends in a beer garden.
Three lockdowns have taken away some simple pleasures we once took for granted, but things are changing in and around Crewe today (April 12).
What have you got planned beyond a trip to shops? Non-essential retail is permitted to reopen and major outlets on the Grand Junction Retail Park such as Sports Direct and Next were preparing to throw open their doors again for the first time in nearly four months.
The roadmap to reopening businesses and society has moved to stage two after the imposition of the most recent national lockdown before Christmas.
As well as non-essential shops, leisure centres and gyms, pubs and restaurants will also be reopening to serve customers outdoors for the first time this year.
