Crewe man charged following knife threat and two pub assaults

A Crewe man is set to appear in court next month, after being charged with threatening a woman with a knife and two previous pub assaults in the town.

On Sunday 20 August, Cheshire Police response officers were called to reports of domestic threats at a Crewe property, off Stoneley Road.

In the early hours of the morning, officers arrived at the scene, discovering a male had threatened a woman wife a kitchen knife, refusing to leave the property.

James Pratt has been remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 18 September (Wikimedia Commons).

James Pratt, 34, from Crewe, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.

The man has since been charged with threats with a bladed weapon.

He was also charged in relation to previous assaults at The Express, Mill Street, (GBH) and Albert's Corner, Prince Albert Street (common assault).

Mr Pratt has been remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 18 September.

On social media, a Crewe Police spokesperson said: "On Sunday 20 August in the early hours, response officers attended a report of domestic threats.

On Sunday 20 August, Cheshire Police response officers were called to reports of domestic threats at a Crewe property, off Stoneley Road (Google).

"At a property just off Stoneley Road, a male had threatened a female with a kitchen knife and refused to leave her property. 

"Officers attended and a male was arrested on suspicion of assault.

"The male was also showing as wanted in relation to an assault at the Express public house, where a male had been attacked causing a nose fracture and serious injuries.

"He was also a suspect in a second assault at Albert's corner public house as well. 

James Pratt was charged in relation to previous assaults at The Express, Mill Street, (GBH) and Albert's Corner, Prince Albert Street (common assault) (Nub News).

"James Pratt 34, from Crewe, has been charged with 3 offences. Section 18 assault (GBH), Section 39 assault (common assault), and threats with a bladed weapon. 

"He has been remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 18 September."
