Crewe man arrested after 29-year-old local motorcyclist dies in fatal bypass collision
A Crewe man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving - after a local motorcyclist died in a fatal bypass collision.
At around 11.20pm on Friday 31 March, Cheshire Police officers were called to reports of a collision on the A534 Haslington Bypass, near Crewe.
Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a white BMW M2 and a small motorcycle - travelling towards Crewe.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 29-year-old man from Crewe, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital.
Despite the best efforts of all those involved, the man was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the car, a 33-year-old man from Crewe, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.
He has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries into the collision are ongoing.
"Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information which may aid the investigation.
"The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage."
