Crewe lone parent charity welcomes new leadership team

South Cheshire CLASP, a Crewe-based charity supporting lone parent families, has announced the appointment of its new leadership team.
Sharon Stowell has been appointed CEO, joining experienced Service Managers, Sharon Hickson and Sue Chapman, who have a long history with CLASP.
This announcement marks a time of change as CLASP said goodbye to Julia Wood, who led the South Cheshire organisation for the past 13 years.
Julia now begins a well-earned retirement and will continue to support the charity as a trustee.

New CEO, Sharon, began her journey with CLASP in 2012 as a volunteer.
A lone parent of three, she has a professional background in mental health, wellbeing, and fundraising, a degree in HR, and a lifelong commitment to advocating for vulnerable people,
Sharon told Nub News: "My journey with CLASP began more than a decade ago as a volunteer, because I wanted to help families like mine.
"I feel incredibly proud to step into this role, to carry forward the wonderful work of my predecessor, Julia, and to lead CLASP into this new chapter with Sue and Sharon by my side.
"Together, we are committed to challenging the stigma of parenting alone, tackling disadvantage, and creating opportunities that help parents see just how strong and capable they are, in a community where they feel truly valued, encouraged, and supported."

With the new leadership team in place, CLASP says it is looking ahead with "optimism and determination," continuing its mission to support, inspire, and empower lone parent families to thrive.
Chair of Trustees, John Colclough, said: "Huge thanks to Julia Wood for the skill and dedication with which she has led CLASP.
"I am delighted we now have a great new management team in place, so that we can continue to offer highly-valued support to lone parent families in our local area for many years to come"
