Crewe kebab shop and chip shop boosted with new five-star food hygiene rating
A Crewe kebab shop and chip shop have been boosted from a new five-star food hygiene rating - with inspections taking place within the past week.
The Food Standard Agency (FSA) Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
The FSA scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It gives businesses a rating from 0 to 5 - displayed at their premises and online.
A five-star hygiene rating means 'hygiene standards are very good' for the business.
All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Thursday 2 March:
The Crewe kebab shop was thrilled its its latest rating, telling Nub News: "To get this rating is great and important for our business. GOGO Kebab strives for the best standards to please its customers."

The Crewe ship shop was delighted with the rating, saying: "We have once again been awarded a five-star hygiene rating. Great work from all the team."
A food safety officer from Cheshire East Council inspected the Crewe businesses to check that they were following food hygiene law so that the food was safe to eat.
At all inspections, the officer checked the following three elements:
- How hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
- The physical condition of the business –including cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, pest control and other facilities
- How the business manages ways of keeping food safe, looking at processes, training and systems to ensure good hygiene is maintained. The officer can then assess the level of confidence in standards being maintained in the future.
GOGO Kebab, Nantwich Road and The Fish Bar, Sunnybank Road, were rated five-star based on these checks.
