Cheshire drink-driver appears at Crewe court after flipping car onto side in crash

A Cheshire drink-driver has appeared at Crewe court for operating their vehicle more than double the drink-drive limit - flipping the car onto its side in a crash.

Peter Slattery, 34, was driving on the A538 Altrincham Road., Wilmslow, on Saturday 5 February - with the crash taking place around 11:30pm.

The man of St Georges Close, Appleton, crashed his black BMW - ending up on its side across the road and pavement.

Slattery was breathalysed at the scene by police - found to be over twice the drink-drive limit.

The 34-year-old was subsequently charged with drink driving offences.

Slattery appeared to be sentenced at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 23 February.

The Cheshire man was disqualified from driving for 20 months and ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work.

Slattery was handed a 12-month community order and told to complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

The man was ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £120 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £114.
