Due to this development, Crewe firefighters will now be using the exit off Crewe Road to respond to emergencies - rather than Macon Way.

The fire station made a statement on social media, saying: "Due to our ongoing station rebuild, from Wednesday 19 October we will be responding to incidents and emergencies using the exit on Crewe Road.

Crewe Fire Station said the new exit road can get particularly busy with parked cars especially during home games for Crewe Alexandra Football Club (Peter Robinson).

"We would urge supporters to refrain from parking on this road as this could potentially delay our response to an emergency.

"Double yellow lines will be added to the road soon."

from Wednesday 19 October we will be responding to incidents and emergencies using the exit on Crewe Road (Liam Blundell).

Crewe's current fire station, opened in 1966, no longer fits the needs of the service.

The new station will include a training tower and a training building - together with car parking.
