A popular Indian eatery in Crewe is enjoying success at two locations, since expanding to run the town's university campus café
Ria's Kitchen by Bombaye Junction, officially opened inside The Hub, Apollo Buckingham Health Sciences Campus, Crewe Green Road, in August 2023.
Operated by Robby and her partner, Dr Vipul Jindal, the new university café is an extension of Bombaye Junction, operating in Crewe Market Hall.
Apollo Buckingham is an Indian medical sciences group with several hospitals and pharmacies in India.
It also has two universities in India, with its first UK campus launching at Crewe's former MMU site in September 2019.
Robby told Nub News: "I was often delivering Bombaye Junction food to Indian staff members at the university campus and was getting very good reviews.
"One day I came here and was unaware I was delivering to CEO and director of Apollo Buckingham Health Sciences Campus, Dr Aswin Sayiram.
"He said our lamb curry was very nice and offered me the opportunity to run the university campus' kitchen.
"We had two or three meetings together, it all worked out and I opened here towards the end of last summer."
"With us having a large kitchen at Apollo Buckingham, all of our food is made here and then taken to Bombaye Junction in Crewe Market Hall.
"It was really hard for us to cook food in such a small space over there with so many ingredients."
Employing eight staff, Ria's Kitchen by Bombaye Junction serves a large variety of food, including a range of continental dishes.
The Crewe business has also expanded to host events and celebrations at the university with local clients.
Robby said: "At Ria's Kitchen we serve a large variety of food, including Indian, English and Italian meals.
"Every day we serve Indian, but we change the menu around this with things like pasta, lasagne, fish and chips and more.
"Since moving our kitchen here, we have been doing catering orders for 50 to 100 people, hosting events for the likes of Springfield School and Bentley Motors.
"This February we covered breakfast, lunch and dinner for a government organisation's induction training.
Robby believes Ria's Kitchen by Bombaye Junction has gone from strength-to-strength since expanding to Apollo Buckingham.
The joint-business owner added: "Our feedback has been excellent from clients and customers for all of our food menu. Students and lecturers are always coming back to us."
"Running the kitchen at Apollo Buckingham has given us a platform to show people we can serve high-quality food in so many varieties.
"I cook a lot myself and I have a team of chefs trained to work in specialist departments, utilising their existing knowledge of food based on their respective backgrounds.
"People have been finding us here from the address on our website. It is great we are having so many customers go to both our locations."
Ria's Kitchen is open at Apollo Buckingham from 9am until 6pm (Monday to Friday).
