Crewe drink driver arrested after car driven 'erratically' towards police officers
A Crewe man has been arrested for drink driving, after a car was driven "erratically" towards police officers on a nightshift.
On Wednesday 9 August, Cheshire Police response officers were patrolling Victoria Avenue in the town.
At 11:45pm, a Ford S Max was seen "driving erratically" towards the officers, dangerously swerving onto their side of the road.
Officers stopped the vehicle, breathalysing a male driver.
The man blew 97 at the roadside, almost three times the limit of 35.
He was arrested for drink driving and taken into police custody.
On social media, a Crewe Police spokesperson said: "At 11:45pm yesterday (August 9), response officers on the nightshift were patrolling Victoria avenue.
"A Ford S max was driving erratically towards them, and dangerously swerved onto the patrols side of the road.
"The car was then stopped, and a male driver was breathalysed.
"He blew 97 at the roadside, with the legal limit being 35.
"He was arrested for drink driving, and taken Into police custody."
