FREE goody bags are being distributed at Co-op stores in the build-up to Crewe Pride which takes place on Saturday (September 25).

The Pride event, which is being staged online (from 2 to 6pm), includes music and features with special guests, including drag queen Cherry Valentine of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Doncaster-based band Bang Bang Romeo alongside singer Ben Tavill, 80s act The Wild Boys and singer Claire Mooney will also be making appearances.

Viewers can also see an interview with local council "fixer" Jackie Weaver.

To promote the event goody bags containing a selection of merchandise and a £5 Co-op gift card are available to be picked up at the following Co-op stores on a first come first served basis:

Readesdale Ave, CW2 8QP

Remer St, CW1 4LS

The Gateway, Beswick Drive, CW1 5NP

Shavington Rope Lane, CW2 5DT

The event is being backed by main sponsor Bentley Motors, while the Co-op and Crewe Town Council are also key sponsors.

Those watching will also get the chance to win Crewe Lyceum Theatre tickets to see 'Deathdrop' – a murder mystery play featuring RuPaul and US drag legends.

Crewe councillor Marilyn Houston, Cheshire East Council's member champion for equality, diversity and inclusion, said: "We're thrilled to be joined by some of this year's biggest names, including Cherry Valentine. We'd encourage individuals of all ages to unite and show our support for the LGBTQ+ community in Cheshire East by tuning in on the day."

You can watch Crewe Pride on the Cheshire East Virtual Pride YouTube channel.
