Crewe children's nursery take part in Elf Run breaking charity fundraising record

A Crewe children's day nursery has broken its charity fundraising record - with children and staff taking part in the Elf Run.

Tinks Children's Day Nursery, Jubilee Avenue, took part in the Elf Run from Monday (December 5) until Friday (December 9) - raising money for St Lukes Hospice.

As of Monday (December 12), the Crewe nursery has raised £516 - with a few more donations to come in.

This sum has broken for record for how much Tinks has ever raised in one event for a charity.

Tinks caters for children from birth to five years - with each child accommodated in separate rooms according to their age.

For Tinks' Elf Run, each day the children wore elf hats and did 10 laps of the garden.

Nursery staff will also wore hats and encouraged the children to take part.

The current sum has broken for record for how much Tinks has ever raised in one event for a charity (Tinks).

Christmas music was played with musical instruments.

Manager of Tinks Nursery, Jane, said, "We understand St Lukes touches a lot of local people's lives and they are there in people's hour of need.

"It's such a worthy cause, we felt strongly that we wanted to give something back to support this wonderful charity.

"The children really enjoyed putting on their hats and had fun."

This nursery was first established in Crewe back in 1966 - previously known as Nyehome.

The name Tinks Children's Nursery was established in 2004. It provides day care and after-school care.
