By Ryan Parker 4th Apr 2022

Taylor Wimpey North West has donated £500 to Crewe-based charity, Cheshire Without Abuse (CWA) - as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting local communities.

The donation from the home construction company, has been put towards CWA's Specialist Service Fund - providing families and individuals with emotional, personal & practical support.

Cheshire Without Abuse, located at Lily Jones Support Centre, Mill House, Brook Street - offers targeted and specialist support to local families affected by domestic abuse, mental illness and/or substance misuse.

People are provided with practical items which include: food and clothing, Ring doorbells, security cameras with built-in spotlights, money towards taxis in emergencies and mobile phones.

Beverley Wrighton, Deputy Chief Executive at Cheshire Without Abuse, stated: "We are grateful for Taylor Wimpey's kind donation towards our Specialist Service Fund.

"The donation will enable us to continue to support families and individuals and allow them to live free from the fear of domestic abuse."

Cheshire Without Abuse is open from 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.

You can call the Crewe support centre on 01270 250390 within these times or alternatively call the 24-hour domestic abuse helpline on 0300 123 5101.

Jennifer Burns, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: "The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes.

"Being able to work with the communities that surround our developments means a great deal to us, so we are delighted to have supported Cheshire Without Abuse in their mission to provide guidance and advice to families affected by domestic abuse."

There are currently two Taylor Wimpey housing developments being constructed in Crewe.

The Willowbrook Grange is a development taking place off Jack Mills Way, Shavington, Crewe.

Taylor Wimpey state on its website: "Discover a range of beautiful new two bedroom apartments and three, four & five bedroom homes situated in the highly desirable area of Shavington.

"Boasting a semi-rural location with a range of nearby scenic walks, Willowbrook Grange is situated just 2 miles from the centre of Crewe with the popular Lyceum Theatre, Crewe Heritage centre and a range of bars, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes.

Its second development is Stoneley Park - taking place off Broad Street, Coppenhall, Crewe.

House prices currently range from £220,995 to £301,995

"The development has been designed with direct access to green open space for residents to enjoy outdoor Cheshire life," says Taylor Wimpey.

It adds: "Stoneley Park benefits from excellent transport links with Crewe train station, just two miles away - offering connections to major cities."

The 24.2 hectare Stoneley Park development has been underway for over seven years - commencing in March 2015.

In 2020, 25 more homes were approved on top of the 650 already being constructed - a proposed commercial element on the site, including a pub and shop was scrapped.

Another Taylor Wimpey housing development just outside Crewe is Cherry Tree Park, Shavington.
