Crewe car bursts into flames close to town's railway station

A local motorist had a lucky escape as a their car burst into flames on a busy road - close to the town's railway station.
This incident was reported on Macon Way at 1:04pm yesterday (July 28).
It happened close to the roundabout connecting with Crewe Road, Weston Road and Nantwich Road.
The car fire happened in close proximity to Crewe Fire Station, Crewe Road, meaning it could be put out extremely quickly.
One fire engine from the station controlled the fire and monitored the temperature around the car.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters used a hose reel jet at a car fire incident on Macon Way.
"They then monitored the surrounding temperature using a thermal imaging camera."
Early this morning (July 29), Cheshire Fire and Rescue service were called to an unattended bonfire in Crewe.
One fire engine from Crewe rushed out at 3:24am to Claughton Avenue, close to the junction with Gresty Road, to put out the fire.
Firefighters distinguished the bonfire using a water backpack.
Cheshire Police were called to attend the incident and are now investigating.
