Crewe Bus Station has has opened to passengers today (May 7), following a two-year project.

The new 10-bay facility opened its doors at 5am, after Crewe's temporary bus station was cleared over the bank holiday weekend.

Crewe's new bus station includes a fully-enclosed passenger waiting area with seating and toilets for passengers, as well as a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities.

The new 10-bay bus station opened its doors at 5am on Tuesday 7 May, after Crewe's temporary bus station was cleared over the bank holiday weekend (Crewe Town Council).

These toilets will be open from 8.30am and 9pm, Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 8.30pm on Sundays.

CCTV has been provided throughout the development, with welfare facilities in place for bus drivers.

There are also cycle stands on-site, along with a changing places facility, which is a fully equipped, accessible bathroom designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

On-site staff will be at the bus station during core operating hours.

As a safety precaution, bus bay doors will only open when a bus is in the bay to prevent passengers from walking or running out onto the external bus concourse.

The entrance to Crewe Bus Station is from Delamere Street, with the adjacent multi-storey car park set to open later this month (Crewe Town Council).

Services from Crewe Bus Station will operate from the following bays:

  • Bay 1: 12 D&G Shavington and 39 Mikro Nantwich
  • Bay 2: 3 First Hanley
  • Bay 3: 8 D&G Sydney, Elm Drive and 85 D&G Newcastle
  • Bay 4: 8 D&G Wistaston Green and 42 D&G Congleton
  • Bay 5: 84 Stagecoach Nantwich, Chester and 84X D&G Nantwich
  • Bay 6: Spare bay, no services
  • Bay 7: 12 D&G Leighton Hospital and 85 D&G Nantwich
  • Bay 8: 31 D&G Winsford, Northwich
  • Bay 9: 37 D&G Northwich and 38 D&G Congleton, Macclesfield
  • Bay 10: College services only
