Crewe B&Q hot tub thief, 41, jailed for targeting store again

A prolific shoplifter who tried to make off with an inflatable hot tub from a Crewe DIY store has been jailed after returning to the same shop just days after being banned.
Carl Proctor, 41, was previously convicted following a bungled attempt to steal an inflatable hot tub from the B&Q store on Weston Road
Crewe Magistrates' Court had ordered him to pay thousands of pounds in compensation and imposed a criminal behaviour order banning him from entering a number of shops, including the Crewe branch.
However, just two days after that conviction, Proctor breached the order by walking back into the same store and attempting to steal further items worth £147.
Staff alerted police and Proctor, of Chell Heath Road, Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested and charged with breaching the criminal behaviour order and theft.
Crewe Magistrates' heard Proctor had also previously pleaded guilty to possession of monkey dust and possession of cannabis following a separate incident on 6 October.
On Wednesday 25 February, the Crewe court sentenced him to 12 weeks in prison for the latest offences.
The term will run simultaneously with an existing six-month sentence. He was also ordered to pay £147.95 in compensation.
