Crewe Alexandra's manager, Lee Bell, has urged his side to "embrace the occasion," as they host rivals Stockport County in a third versus first encounter.

The Alex will be hoping to extend their home unbeaten run to 15 matches tonight (October 24), when League Two's table toppers come to town.

Stockport have won eight League Two matches on the bounce and sit three points above Crewe with a two better goal difference (+13).

Crewe Alexandra manager, Lee Bell, has urged his side to 'embrace the occasion' for the Stockport County clash (Crewe Alex).

As Crewe are the country's leading scorers right now, a victory by one goal would place them above The Hatters.

Last time out, Crewe were 4-2 winners away to Crawley Town. County beat Grimsby Town 3-2 at Edgeley Park.

Bell told Crewe Alexandra's website: "It will be a really good atmosphere because I am sure they [Stockport] will sell out their end and we will get a good number coming to the game too.

"Hopefully, we will get the selection right and the lads embrace the occasion and put on another good performance.

"We have a lot of confidence at home. It will be a really tough game, but they will know they are in for a tough game as well.

In 2022/2023, Stockport beat Crewe 2-0 at Edgeley Park, with the sides drawing 1-1 at Mornflake Stadium (Crewe Alex).

"Stockport are full of experience and know-how.

"We have looked at what we might do in terms of formation against them and who might come into the fold."

Crewe will have to be wary of Stockport's Isaac Olaofe and Louie Barry, who are both League Two's joint-second top scorers on nine goals each.

Sandwiched in-between Crewe and Stockport, sit Notts County, who host Newport County on the night.

Crewe Alexandra (third), versus Stockport County (first), kicks off at 7:45pm on Tuesday 24 October (Ryan Parker).

For the Railwaymen to reach the League Two summit tonight, they need to beat Stockport and hope The Magpies drop points.
