A Crewe-raised artist has released a series of merchandise of the town's most famous sights.

Adam Schofield (41) grew up just off Edleston Road. The illustrator makes a living from sketching significant landmarks across our county, with Crewe being no exception.

He sells prints of various sizes for you to put up in your house, and he also has just started selling Crewe-themed drinks coasters.

Crewe landmarks and signifiers which feature in Adam's artwork include: a Duchess of Sutherland train [of Crewe works], the Bentley factory, Crewe Municipal Buildings, the Queen's Park Clock Tower, the Lyceum Theatre, the former public swimming baths (which Adam hopes will be turned into a community space), the old 'Big Bill' clock tower, Crewe Market Hall, Crewe War Memorial, Christ Church [of Prince Albert Street], the old Police Training Centre [that is now apartnments], Rail House, and Crewe Hall.

As well as selling a print featuring all of these, some of the landmarks are available as individual prints as well.

You can also buy drinks coasters with all landmarks on, as well as more detailed ones for Crewe Market Hall, Crewe Municipal Buildings and the former public baths.

Other little hidden details in Adam's work includes one of the four eagles of Crewe, and a Railway Station box as a reference to our town's heritage.

Adam, who now lives in Macclesfield, is a former pupil of St. Thomas Moore High School and Dane Bank College.

As well as doing art of Crewe and many Cheshire towns, Adam is also a professional photographer. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Crewe Nub News)

"I like Crewe a lot and I'm very proud to be from there," he said.

"I think Crewe gets a bit of a bad rep for not being as cultural or historical as other towns as Cheshire, but I think that's unfair- it has a lot going for it, especially now with the Market Hall refurb and the Lyceum Theatre.

"There are lots of lovely buildings here and I think a lot of people don't really appreciate how architecturally important Crewe is.

"The Municipal Buildings was the hardest to draw, it is more intricate than the others.

" I really enjoyed drawing Crewe Market Hall, I had to redo my design for it recently with all the investment going into it. It is really nice there.

"Big Bill was a special illustration for me, as I could see it from my window growing up just outside e town centre, it's a real shame that it's gone now.

"If anywhere in Crewe would like to stock my work, I love to work with them and would be willing to give them a wholesale discount.

"I like going back to Crewe, I think it has turned a corner, and all my family live there. I think the next few years will be Crewe's time to shine, as long as the town centre gets sorted!

"Going forward, I would like to see more independent traders in Crewe centre, and I think this could happen if Great British Railways does have their headquarters here. That would secure Crewe's future really, there's no other place it should be. It has to be Crewe.

"I believe it is important to illustrate buildings to ensure they're not forgotten, the 'Big Bill' clock tower has already gone which I never thought would happen when I first drew it.

"Unfortunately a lot of buildings in Crewe aren't listed, so I wanted to create some illustrations that highlighted the great buildings the town has and that encourages people to feel proud to live in Crewe, I'm certainly proud to come from the town."

The prints start at £9.50, and are of various sizes, which you can buy from this link.

The Crewe coasters start at £5, with a pack of four at a discounted rate of £18.
