Crewe and Nantwich schools win big at Cheshire and Warrington Athletics Final

Two Crewe and Nantwich primary schools have claimed top honours at the Cheshire and Warrington Indoor Athletics Finals.

Bridgemere CE Primary School and St Mary's Catholic Primary School, both secured first place in their respective categories at the competition in Ellesmere Port on Monday 17 March.

Bridgemere's year five and six team won the Small Schools Final, while St Mary's came out on top in the Large Schools Final.

St Mary's Catholic Primary School came out on top in the Large Schools Final (St Mary's).

Both schools had qualified by winning their local Crewe and Nantwich competitions.

Competing across a range of track and field events, the students faced strong opposition from schools across the region.

Despite the challenges, both teams delivered standout performances, showing consistency and determination throughout the event.

Year five and six teacher at Bridgemere, Daisy McGarrigle, said: "I could not be prouder of our students today. We may be a small school, but we are strong.

"The children gave their all and showed incredible sportsmanship throughout the day.

"To come away as champions in such a competitive field is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

"We are also thrilled to share this experience with St Mary's Primary School, who also won their category, it made the journey home even sweeter."
