Crewe and Nantwich firefighters rescue casualty trapped inside car after road traffic collision

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service quickly responded to rescue a casualty trapped inside their car following a road traffic collision - just six miles from Crewe.

The incident happened at 7:51pm last night (August 9), on Spitfire Road, Wardle.

One fire engine from Crewe and one from Nantwich quickly arrived at the scene - finding a motorist trapped inside their car.

A vehicle lost control and crashed into a hedge - close to the A51 Nantwich Road roundabout (Google).

The vehicle had lost control, gone off-road and crashed into a nearby hedge.

Firefighters quickly rescued the casualty - placing them into the care of North West Ambulance Service.

Cheshire Police closed the road whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "One casualty was rescued from a car after it had come off the road and crashed into a hedge.

"The casualty was handed into the care of the ambulance service and the road closed while emergency services dealt with the incident."

Firefighters recsued the casualty from inside the car and handed them to paramedics (Cheshire Fire and Rescue).

Yesterday, firefighters from Nantwich also dealt with an industrial skip fire - just five miles from Crewe.

The incident on Main Road, Worleston, was reported at 7:26am - close to the North Wales Coast Line.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and dampen it down.
