Crewe Alexandra to host organised celebrity football match for charity

CREWE Alexandra Football club are hosting a celebrity football event this May - raising funds for Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

The Sellebrity Soccer event will take place at the Mornflake Stadium, including the likes of Soccer AM presenter Tubes, X Factor winner Shane Ward, TOWIE stars Dan Osborne and James Argent and former Crewe Alex player Steve Walters.

Sellebrity Soccer was launched in 2012, helping charities to raise money by arranging celebrity-filled football matches for audiences across the UK.

Crewe Alex Hospitality and Events Manager, Leanne Edmonds told Nub News: "The team here at Crewe Alexandra Football Club are looking forward to hosting the Sellebrity Soccer game at Mornflake Stadium on Sunday 1st May.

"With an array of celebrities donning football boots instead of their usual day jobs, it should make for a great day of entertainment for the whole family.

"There is the opportunity to meet some of the celebrities within the VIP package, which includes a VIP seat and VIP lounge access for pre-match, half time and post-match.

"You will have the opportunity to meet a minimum of 10 celebrity players post match In the VIP lounge."

Also showing off their football skills will be Eastenders stars Jake Wood, Dean Gaffney, Matt Lapinskas and Danny Hatchard along with The Real Housewives of Cheshire cast member Joe Sealey.

The game will kick off at 3pm, with the doors opening for the event at 1:30pm.

Sellebrity Soccer's Co-Founder Kevin Cooper stated: "We cannot wait to visit Crewe Alexandra Football Club for the first time with our two celebrity teams.

"We hope lots of people will attend the match and get behind the teams - the money raised will change the lives of ill children living in Liverpool."

More celebrity stars taking place in the match will be announced In the coming weeks.

Standard tickets are priced at £12 per person alongside an additional booking fee.

Attenders can upgrade to a VIP package for £30 per person.
