Crewe Alexandra complete signing of Irish Premier Division full-back

Crewe Alexandra FC have completed the signing of an Irish Premier Division full-back on a two-year deal, becoming the EFL League Two club's third summer signing.
Reece Hutchinson has joined Crewe for an undisclosed fee from Sligo Rangers after the Alex triggered the release clause in his contract.
The 25-year-old left back was one of Rovers' most consistent players since joining in 2023, rarely missing out through injury.
Known for his attacking abilities as well as defensive prowess, Hutchinson made 22 league appearances for Rovers in 2025, scoring three goals and contributing two assists.

The Birmingham-born defender, who started out at Burton Albion, played 56 times for The Brewers between 2018 and 2021.
From there, Hutchinson played less than a dozen games from Cheltenham Town in League One until playing for the Irish side, where he quickly became a fan-favourite.
Hutchinson joins striker, Josh March, and centre back, Phil Croker, in signing up to play under manager, Lee Bell, for the 2025/26 season.
Crewe Alexandra said: "Everybody at Crewe Alexandra would like to welcome Reece and wish him luck for the future."
