Crewe Alex manager, Lee Bell, will continue on as the boss for 2024/25, after turning down an "approach" from a lowly League One side.

The Brewers, currently 23rd in League One, have won just two of their first 19 matches, losing 11.

Bell, 41, made a total of 100 appearances for Burton across three stints, playing in League Two and the Conference National (Crewe Alex).

The former midfielder will stay on at The Alex, who currently sit third in League Two on an 11-match unbeaten run.

Bell, who has managed Crewe for two years since replacing Alex Morris, has taken charge of 114 matches, winning 44, drawing 33 and losing 27.

A club statement read: "Crewe Alexandra are delighted to confirm that Lee Bell will remain in charge after turning down an official approach from another club.
