Coffee chain submits licence to open 24 hours in Crewe
By Ryan Parker 27th Jan 2026
A huge coffee chain has applied to keep one of its drive-thru outlets open 24 hours in Crewe, located close to the A500.
This January, Costa Coffee submitted a premises licence to Cheshire East Council on behalf of its premises on Jack Mills Way, Shavington.
Costa, which operates four branches in Crewe, currently has a licence to open on Crewe Commercial Park from 5am to 11pm.
Britain's largest coffee chain has now applied to extend its Jack Mills Way (drive-thru only) hours from 11pm to 5am, meaning it would be able to remain open 24 hours.
The licensing application is on the display at the Shavington outlet, with its Grand Junction Retail Park, Lockitt Street and Phoenix Leisure Park branches remaining unaffected.

The premises license application reads: "Notice is hereby given that we, Costa Limited have applied on 21 January 2026 to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as Costa Coffee - Drive Thru, Jack Mills Way, Crewe.
"This is for a premises licence to provide the following licensable activity: Late night refreshment (drive-thru only), Monday to Sunday, 11pm to 5am."
Representations to Costa Coffee's application shall be made in writing to Cheshire East Council Licensing Section on or before Wednesday 18 February.
You can also submit your representation by emailing: [email protected].
